Valentine's Day Franken!

Image
I hope you all enjoyed your Valentine's Day... Or Walking Dead Day! Was that mid-season premiere awesome or what?!? As I browsed my stash to find a good polish for Valentine's, I realized I still had Lynnderella's Matter of the Heart that I picked up in a stash sale some years ago. Sadly, the formula was quite bad; very runny, sheer and the base would not suspend the glitter. So when life hands you lemons you make lemonade... And when you get a crap polish you either layer it or Franken it. I did attempt to layer; but I just could not get the glitter on my nail due to the very runny & thin base. I'm not sure if it went bad over time, if I got a bad batch, or if it had been doctored with too much thinner in the past. Who knows. I grabbed a light pink cream that had sat untouched for at least a few years, Julep, Reese . She's a nice polish but I don't wear light pinks too often. I mixed equal parts Reese & Matter of the Heart and got lucky because it end...

Finger Paints, You Yacht To Know Better.

I've got the Alanis Morisette song stuck in my head now. It's actually not a bad song to have stuck in your head so it's all good. You Yacht To Know Better is a very pretty dusty blue shimmer with blue glitter. It leans a little dark on me but I'm very pale. If you are a fan of navy blues I think you will love this. It's not the best color on me though. I tend towards brighter blues.  What you see here is 2 coats. The formula was a little on the thick side and the brush didn't want to fan out on the nail so I had more clean up than usual. But you could easily add thinner to remedy this issue (I don't know why I didn't). It dried pretty quick but left a little texture behind due to the blue micro glitter. I topped it with a coat of In A Hurry to get a glossy finish. After a few days I topped it with a glitter; Lynnderella's Boy-Girl Party. I know I swore off Lynnderella's but I snapped this up from a stash sale for a really good price. The applica...

Lynnderella, Connect the Dots.

Lynnderella, Connect the Dots. 1 coat over: Barielle, Sweet Addiction & Cosmic Kiss.  Did I really just post a Lynnderella?!? I did! I did! I bought this sooo long ago (back before it was a chore to purchase) and then the drama hit and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. If you don't know about the drama that ensued; just do a little digging and you will quickly find it - along with a lot of opinions. Me, I'm gonna keep my opinion to myself. While, you won't see me buying any more Lynnderella creations I did buy some back in the Early Indie years (not that long ago; I'm just being silly) and I've since used the other two I bought but this one was waiting... waiting for the right moment. That moment is now. Whenever I do an accent nail I feel I need something to pull it together; in my last post I mentioned this color combo reminded me of the 90's.... Well, now it's even more 90's... add a little black and white and it looks like the p...
