Frenzy Polish, If You Don't Fight You Die.

Image
Hey Gang! I have an awesome polish to show you along with even better news! Last Sunday was the premiere episode of Fear The Walking Dead so I wore this awesome polish especially for the occasion. You can watch the premiere episode HERE for free and be sure to tune in tomorrow night for the next episode. I know lots of people are getting confused about Fear The Walking Dead so here's a little clarification: FTWD is a brand spanking new show (last Sunday was the very first show). You do not need to have watched The Walking Dead . This one starts off fresh when the zombie apocalypse begins in Los Angeles ( TWD is in Georgia). It is basically going to show the same zombie apocalypse but from the view of a family in Los Angeles. So, check it out! This polish was created with The Walking Dead in mind; and it is part of the TV Frenzy Collection . This collection features quite a few polishes crafted with popular TV shows in mind; you should pop over to see if your favorite ...

Merry Christmas! Zoya, Veruschka and Lumina Lacquer, Hooked On Christmas.

Image
I hope you all are enjoying your Christmas (or other holiday) festivities!  I've got another Christmasy mani for you today... I applied 2 coats of Zoya's Veruschka which is one of the MatteVelvet shades that dry matte. This is a deep evergreen with beautiful shimmer. It applied very nicely and since it is a matte it dried quickly. These MatteVelvet's might not be around for long so I suggest getting them now while you can; they are some of the most beautiful mattes. Then I dabbed on one coat of Lumina Lacquer , Hooked On Christmas . Sadly, this particular polish is no longer available but there is one called Jingle Bells that you might like. I love circle glitter and this is various sizes of circle and hexagon glitter in red and various shades of green. There's also a variety of matte, metallic, and holographic finishes. The clear base is a very thick suspension base which required a slightly longer dry time. It also dried a little bumpy but a few coats of ACI's I...

China Glaze, Getting To Gnaw You and Stop That Train!

Image
Today I have a polish from China Glaze's Apocalypse Of Color with an accent nail from the All Aboard Collection. These two just seemed to scream out at me as a cool combo. No Top Coat. Getting To Gnaw You is from the Apocalypse Of Color Collection and it reminds me a lot of Wet n Wild's Cougar Attack from years ago except GTGY has a much more opaque and black base. If you missed out on Cougar Attack and are still kicking yourself I would highly recommend this one. I like it better. It only took two coats and dried very quickly like a texture polish. In fact you could rock this as a texture or your could top coat it. Formula was very easy to work with. On my accent nail I have Stop That Train! from the All Aboard Collection . This frosty orange is pretty enough but as you can see this shows brush strokes. I love orange polish but this left me a bit bored. I used 2 easy coats; formula was quite easy to work with.  With Illamasqua Matte Top Coat. I read about a trick (I belie...

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Emerald and Enchanted Topaz.

Image
Here's the last lipstick and nail lacquer I have to show you from Milani's Bedazzled Collection . Sorry for the delay in getting this posted; we found we had to move stat so we had to drop everything and focus on finding a new place. Right now we are in the eye of the storm so it's calmed down some but it's gonna get crazy here again in a few days. As I've said in my earlier posts it was believed that this collection would be exclusive to Walgreens but I did see some of these listed on Milani's website so if you are on the hunt for these check their website first. I did see that quite a few of these were already sold out.  Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Emerald . This is a very dark forest green but not as dark as Enchanted Sapphire . This one is much more obvious that it is green but in low lighting you will mistake this for a black. Formula was just like Enchanted Sapphire; very opaque, a little on the thick side and thickens during applica...

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Sapphire and Enchanted Amethyst.

Image
Here's the next nail lacquer and lipstick I have to show you from Milani's Bedazzled Collection . Check out my first post HERE . I was under the impression these were Walgreen's exclusives but I did see some on Milani's website . Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Sapphire is a very dark blue creme. In the bottle it looks like a navy blue but on the nail this is a blue toned black. I'm not one to be crazy about basic black cremes but if you are a black polish feind you might want to grab this one. It's very very opaque. I used 2 coats but only because I am a perfectionist. If you are looking for a good navy blue stamping polish this would work well; used lightly it definitly looks navy blue. Formula was a little odd; it started out nice and easy to apply but it thickened up quickly so I added some thinner. With this polish I noticed the brush was a little coarse and left track marks in the finish as I was polishing. It also doesn't fan out on...

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Garnet and Enchanted Ruby.

Image
Hey ya'll! Sorry for the absence but the hubby and I decided to spend the last days of September in Laughlin, NV! It was a fabulous trip! Uh Oh, Guess what day it is... It's the first day of October! Whooo Hooo! I've got a lipstick and a nail lacquer from Milani's Bedazzled Collection to show you today. These are Walgreens exclusives and can be hard to find. It took me quite sometime to hunt them down; I struck gold while on vacation. The Walgreens in Bullhead City, AZ had the collection out. I snagged all the Lippies and nail lacquers. I wasn't too keen on the eyeliners so I passed on those. HEADS UP: I just found some colors from the Bedazzled Collection online at www.milanicosmetics.com. Click on What's New to see the collection. Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Garnet is exactly that; a garnet. Garnet is a blackened shimmering red with a touch of brown. It also happens to be my birthstone! This is my first time trying out the new Color Sta...

Impulse Cosmetics: Opaque Matte & Metaluxe Lipsticks.

Image
I recently saw a blog post about Impulse Cosmetics and I was intrigued by the idea of a lipstick palette with colors you can use to mix up and transform colors. But before I order a full sized palette I placed a sample order for 5 of their lipsticks; 2 Opaque Matte and 3 Metaluxe.  Top (Metaluxe); from left to right: Affluent, Texas Tea, & Infatuation. Bottom (Opaque Matte); from left to right: Laughing Gas & Electric City. I did swatches on my hand without any lip primer for you. I also tested these out on my lips but didn't take any photos since I wasn't wearing foundation at the time. But I did take one photo for you of me wearing Texas Tea. Top to Bottom: Electric City, Affluent, Laughing Gas, Infatuation, and Texas Tea. Close up of Electric City, Affluent, and Laughing Gas. Close up of Infatuation and Texas Tea. The Opaque Matte lipsticks are not a drying matte, more like a satin and they are very creamy and don't dry out my lips. They also have really nice...

Mentality, Bandit and Gold Foil.

Image
Here's another St. Patricks Day mani I did earlier this March. Mentality's Bandit is pretty darn awesome! This is the first Mentality I've ever had the pleasure to use thanks to my polish pal, Michaela . This was a RAOK (Random Act Of Kindness) gift from her and WOW, it's a good one! It's a forestry green matte shimmer and the formula is like butter. Dreamy to apply. Because it's a matte it dries quickly too. This is 2 coats. It's very opaque but I did need the 2nd coat to reach full opacity. Because I wanted a little extra wear time I added a coat of Gelous and then matted it again using Illamasqua's Matte Top Coat . Mattes on their own tend to lack longevity so this gave me a few extra days of wear time. I did an accent nail using gold prismatic nail foil I bought off of eBay . I  had some challenges using nail foils for the first time so here is a list of do's and dont's when working with nail foils: 1) Don't use Base Coat; it caused dra...

Julie G, Hot Cinnamon.

Image
Julie G, Hot Cinnamon. 2 coats.  I don't know why it took me so long to post this... Well, actually I do... I've been stretched a little thin lately between my hubby and my other activities. Also, back when I was posting my 7 Days of Purple for Cancer Awareness & Prevention I had to hold off on posting my other swatches. Since then I have decided to start The Insanity Workouts and O.M.G. it is some serious work to do them. The 1st few days made me so sore and I was exhausted. I literally just aimed to take care of my pets and do some minor but necessary housework. Are any of you into The Insanity Workout? Are you just beginning it like me or are you a seasoned pro by now??? Hot Cinnamon is one of the new(ish) Gumdrops Collection by Julie G. It is a beautiful berry red texture polish with micro glitters in pink and gold. It's so gorgeous! I posted it on twitter when I initially applied it because I was so darn impressed and in love with it. It's my very fav...

ManGlaze, Mink Mitten. (7 Days of Purple for Cancer Awareness & Prevention)

Image
ManGlaze, Mink Mitten. 2 coats. How to begin? How about... This is freaking awesome! I love this silvery lavender foil; I didn't think I would like this color on me but I really love it. I seriously wanted to keep it on. Screw all the other purple posts. No, No, I can't do that! (Bummer!) ManGlaze is the king of all matte polishes; the formula is butter and they all apply really great. I have never had a bad ManGlaze polish. I know matte polishes don't normally have the greatest of staying power but I still love them. This one is a perfect foil finish; not a brush stroke in sight, just shimmery shiny goodness. The other great thing about mattes is they dry super quick so if you need a speedy mani just go for a matte. On this I applied two coats really quickly with no dragging or anything. I also appreciate that the formula is the perfect viscosity so it makes application pretty much goof proof; the brush is good too. I got a perfect line up to my cuticle and no clea...

Illamasqua, Mottle. (Happy St. Patty's Day!)

Image
Illamasqua, Mottle. 2 coats. The great part of Tax Season is I actually work steady and earn a decent paycheck. Especially this year; I've had at least 40 hours a week... and a lot of overtime. Kind of hurts my commission in the end, but the moments I'm not working I can shop online and spend some of my hard earned cash. Usually, I can't splurge on pricey products because I'm rocking unemployment the rest of the year. I've especially noticed the new Illamasqua Collection, IMPERFECTION, popping up on blogs all over the place. I've never bought from them in the past but this new collection is really cool. I also dig the message behind it; celebrating who you really are... Imperfections and all. I splurged and picked up Mottle and Speckle. I'm not disapointed in the least; in fact I'm impressed and look forward to buying more of their polish. Not only was the formula killer, but the glitter has the perfect ratio and distribution on the nail and it ...

MANGLAZE, Fu@k Off & Dye with Hot Mess.

Image
MANGLAZE, Fuck Off & Dye. 2 coats. MANGLAZE, Hot Mess. 1 coat. Fuck Off & Dye. Sunlight. Fuck Off & Dye. Shade. It's about time I got around to using my MANGLAZE. I'm not one to buy a pink polish unless of course it has a really awesome name or back story. This one has both. If you are interested in learning more check this out. and this . Hot Mess. Sunlight. The formula on MANGLAZE polishes are really awesome. They are practically one coaters but I'm insistent on two. The brushes are a little stiff (yea, I said it) but work perfectly for the thick matte formula. No issues with dragging or bare spots. Of course they dry incredibly fast. FO&D is an in-your-face magenta pink that would work well on just about anyone. Hot Mess is a super dense silver glitter. Great glitter coverage in just one coat. Fuck Off & Dye and Hot Mess with Gelous and Seche Vite. I wish I could have kept the matte finish but for work purposes ...
