Finish 5 By Cinco de Mayo: Finale!

Image
It's the end! Yayus! I was getting pretty burnt out on this challenge so I'm glad it's over! See my  intro post here ! Finish 5 by Cinco de Mayo was started by  Megsmakeup8 ! Let's see how I did: -  Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick  in Purty Persimmon: My least used of the bunch simply because you have to be wearing clothing in colors that will not clash with this bold Red/Orange lip. This is still a favorite of mine and it wears the longest out of the bunch. I used about .15 of an inch. -  Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss  in Mai-Tai 02: I really used this a lot over the last two months and you can finally see a dent in the above photo. The downside of gloss is when you wear your hair down it's constantly dragging through your gloss. Still, this gloss is one of my favorites; I love the color and while it is on the sticky side it also wears pretty good for a gloss. -  Milani Color Statement Lipstick  in Fruit Punch: This is a ...

Finish 5 By Cinco de Mayo: Update #2

Image
Only 2 days late... I call that a WIN! Yayus! See my  intro post here ! Finish 5 by Cinco de Mayo was started by  Megsmakeup8 ! -  Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick  in Purty Persimmon: I'm still chugging along with this one... I can see some use but again I don't use this as much as I would like simply because it can clash with the colors in my outfit. First. World. Problems. -  Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss  in Mai-Tai 02: My favorite lip gloss but still the least used lippie in this challenge. I have to admit I love the golden shimmer in it though. I used it maybe 5 more times since my last update.  -  Milani Color Statement Lipstick  in Fruit Punch: Such a cute pink! I actually used this the most in the last month because it just brightens me up and I'm starting to look fatigued as tax season progresses. Thank God I listened to Vintage or Tacky and got this cause I love it. -  Too Faced...

Finish 5 By Cinco de Mayo: Update #1

Image
Sorry I'm behind! Tax Season has kept me busy so this will have to be short and sweet! See my intro post here ! Finish 5 by Cinco de Mayo was started by Megsmakeup8 ! -  Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick  in Purty Persimmon: This has proven to be a tough color to use because I have to make sure it works with my outfit. It's is a great long lasting lippie though; out of all my other choices this one lasts the best and is maintenance free. I don't even have to worry about this feathering or smearing. -  Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss  in Mai-Tai 02: My least used of the bunch but this is no surprise. I've used this maybe 2 - 4 times. I'm not big on glosses but this one is better than most. Love the color and shimmer. -  Milani Color Statement Lipstick  in Fruit Punch: A super cute pink that I've used quite a lot but not as much as the next one. I like to use this one with a lip liner to help it last longer on my lip...

Update: Tax Season 2015 and Project Pan!

Image
Hey Gang! I hope your holidays were lovely. It's about time for me to start Tax Season 2015 so (as you might already know) I won't be posting all that regularly through April 15th. If you don't know, I work for H&R Block as a tax preparer and I get really slammed and work lots of overtime to meet the needs of my clients.  Tax Season requires me to make some adjustments one of which being switching to gel nails; they hold up much longer and help to prevent breaks. I use CND's Shellac and will post photos of my Shellac manicures during tax season; just remember it won't be all that frequent. I also recently stumbled upon Project Pan and thought this would be a great way to streamline my makeup routine as well as purge a few items from my stash. I first found out about Project Pan from Anya Marie  on YouTube when she was doing the Finish 6 by Christmas Challenge. What is it: Project Pan 101  (Watch this video for a great intro from Amber F) I will be participating ...

WIN-ter Wonderland: e.l.f. Cosmetics Review and Giveaway!

I incorporated all of these items into a full face look so I could throughly test them out and show you what they look like when worn. To create this purple smokey eye I used the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer , Essential Smudge Pot in Poppin Party , and Studio Baked Eyeshadow in Burnt Plum . I started with a base of the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer all over my lid, brow bone, and crease. I've been using this stuff for about a year and I think it is comparable to the Urban Decay and Too Faced primers. The texture is really nice; it had a light and creamy texture that is easy to blend on the eye but try to avoid over blending it. It sets pretty quickly to a soft velvety texture. I like to blend it out over the lid, then the brow bone, then the crease. This prevents you from getting too much product in the crease which will then crease later in the day. A little goes a very long way and I always finish application by patting with my fingertip to avoid flaking. When applied correclty this will...

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Emerald and Enchanted Topaz.

Here's the last lipstick and nail lacquer I have to show you from Milani's Bedazzled Collection . Sorry for the delay in getting this posted; we found we had to move stat so we had to drop everything and focus on finding a new place. Right now we are in the eye of the storm so it's calmed down some but it's gonna get crazy here again in a few days. As I've said in my earlier posts it was believed that this collection would be exclusive to Walgreens but I did see some of these listed on Milani's website so if you are on the hunt for these check their website first. I did see that quite a few of these were already sold out.  Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Emerald . This is a very dark forest green but not as dark as Enchanted Sapphire . This one is much more obvious that it is green but in low lighting you will mistake this for a black. Formula was just like Enchanted Sapphire; very opaque, a little on the thick side and thickens during applica...

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Sapphire and Enchanted Amethyst.

Here's the next nail lacquer and lipstick I have to show you from Milani's Bedazzled Collection . Check out my first post HERE . I was under the impression these were Walgreen's exclusives but I did see some on Milani's website . Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Sapphire is a very dark blue creme. In the bottle it looks like a navy blue but on the nail this is a blue toned black. I'm not one to be crazy about basic black cremes but if you are a black polish feind you might want to grab this one. It's very very opaque. I used 2 coats but only because I am a perfectionist. If you are looking for a good navy blue stamping polish this would work well; used lightly it definitly looks navy blue. Formula was a little odd; it started out nice and easy to apply but it thickened up quickly so I added some thinner. With this polish I noticed the brush was a little coarse and left track marks in the finish as I was polishing. It also doesn't fan out on...
