Recent Giveaway Wins! (I'm a lucky duck!)

When you're broke, the only kind of haul is of the FREE kind (LOL). Luckily, I'm rich in good Karma.... More on that later.

In the end of September I won Misa's Wanderlust Collection from Kellie Gonzo. This is quite possibly my favorite Fall Collection to be released this year. I love the colors and textures. To top it off Misa is a Cruelty-Free brand! Hip-Hip-Hooray!!!

I look forward to wearing these soon...

On Halloween I was the lucky Random Draw winner over at Addicted To OPI-yum's Scariest Bottle of Polish Contest. Whooo Hooo! I got a great idea to use these to make frankens after checking out Skeeter Style and seeing her frankens. I will be posting the results so stay tuned... I'm really excited to play with these!

The possibilities are endless...

Back to the good Karma... Since being unemployed, I've learned a lot of valuable lessons and one of them is that money isn't everything; there are much more important things in life. I've found my favorite thing to do is to be a positive force in the face of difficulty.

That's why I have pursued a career with H&R Block.

It's why I volunteer at two hospitals every week with my Therapy Dog, Nikki.

It's why I participate in the American Cancer Society's Bark For Life.

It's why I encourage a healthy and cruelty-free lifestyle.

We are all capable of improving and bettering ourselves. Sometimes we make mistakes along the way and that's okay. Mistakes are lessons; learn from them. Just don't keep making those same mistakes.

My mother had yet another trip to Kaiser's Urgent Care and after spending 10 hours there with her on Saturday they finally admitted her. She stayed there for two days as the staff worked to find out what was going on. Initially, we thought it was Kidney Stones but it ended up being a severe Bladder Infection. Her blood pressure was also having a hard time stabilizing. During this time I had to go check on my father, who has Alzheimer's, constantly throughout the days. Anyone with Alzheimer's can be a challenge to care for, but my dad is extremely difficult because he insists he's fine and doesn't have Alzheimer's. He's at the stage where he thinks everyone is out to get him but gets confused from on minute to the next. One minute he's an arrogant jerk and the next a scared child. It's amazing. I know he is sick and I never expect any of this to change but I think back to the beginning of his life and wonder if his initial personality traits have impacted this end result. I've seen plenty of studies mention that people with high blood pressure and those who are quick to anger have a higher chance of developing Alzheimer's. Those traits describe my father to the Tee; He has always had an extreme temper; he would go from 0 - 160 in a split second when I was a child.

After all of this, I received my package of goodies from Addicted To OPI-yum and it jump started me. After being so exhausted, here was a little ray of light in my mail box to perk me up so I could 'Keep Calm and Carry On'. Chance? Circumstance? Fate? Karma? I don't know, I just know I lovenailpolish.
