NCLA Nail Wraps in Fairy Floss.

Image
2 sheets of Nail Wraps and a Nail File are included in the package. Guess what showed up in my mailbox last week??? My Vegan Cuts Beauty Box !!! I've been really looking forward to getting it since its my very first one. I will be posting a review on the entire box here soon but I just had to break out the NCLA Nail Wraps in Fairy Floss I received. It was well past time for me to do my nails and after reading the back of this package I realized that these were not your typical nail wraps because you used top coat. That made me believe that these would be more durable so I jumped right in! I've tried the Sally Hansen strips before and I was not impressed with the amount of tip wear (that was also before I went 100% cruelty free). They didn't give you a glossy or finished appearance; I could literally see them separating from my nails, especially at the free edge. The wear time was pretty short too; I think I got a maximum wear time of 4 days with serious tip wear

Hard Candy Drip Mani.

Image
2 coats of Sweet Tooth and drips done in Pink Taffy. How many of you are a fan of the Hard Candy Facebook Page ? I most certainly am and they are asking to see your Hard Candy Nail Art. If they repost your work they will 'send you a new stash of our polishes!' Just make sure to Tag them in the photo as well as include a hashtag (#HardCandyNails). It's open through August 31st. I whipped up this cute drip mani after experimenting on some swatch sticks. I used a base of Sweet Tooth , a mix of pink, blue, and silver glitter in a very light blue milky base. I used 2 coats. Once Sweet Tooth was completely dry I then used Pink Taffy , a mix of magenta, black, and silver glitter in a pink base, to freehand the drip on the tips. First I tipped it (like a french tip) and then used the brush to dab drops of the polish to look like they were dripping down the nail. I did add a little thinner (Zoya's Restore) to make the consistency of Pink Taffy a little thinner and easier t

Priti NYC, City Girl Rose.

2 coats. With Top Coat. I want to apologize for the lack of blog posts over the last week. After our weekend getaway to Laughlin, NV I was wore out (trips are exhausting aren't they???) and had to get caught up on some errands. This is what I wore on my nails for our weekend at the River. I wore Priti NYC on my toes as well; Hedge Hog Rose . It was a great combo.  The formula on City Girl Rose can be a little streaky. Even with 2 coats I had a few sheer spots but it  wasn't enough for me to add a 3rd coat . The odd thing is it didn't translate to my photos at all. The consistency is nice and creamy though and it self leveled nicely and didn't take very long to dry. I loved the brush when doing my toes; it's a flat paddle style brush. But on my tips it was a little big and bulky but still a nice brush. I love this almost neon peachy coral. I finished it off with my 'usual'; Gelous & Seche Vite. I've been on a lucky streak; I won the 4 piece

Barielle Dotticure.

Image
From Left to Right: Barielle, Rio's Rockin' Bands, Pink Diamond, and Jillian's Jammin'. Some friends of ours are expecting their first child and they had a Gender Reveal Party last Sunday. They wanted everyone to chose a Team; either Team Pink or Team Blue. Pink if you were hoping for a Girl and Blue if you were hoping for a Boy. I'm neutral so I had an idea to go Team Purple! I came up with this cute dotticure for the party. My stance is 'as long as your baby is happy and healthy that's all that matters.' There are pros and cons of each gender so just be happy with what you get. I used to be all about boys but I'm starting to see the good in little girls too so I guess they are growing on me! Barielle Dotticure. With Gelous and Seche Vite. I started with a base color of  Rio's Rockin' Bands ; a frosty red toned purple. I really like the color but the brushstrokes kinda suck. I used two coats to get good opacity. The formula i

My Nail Polish Room.

After a few years of having a fold-out card table as my nail polish center I realized that I needed to create a more organized space. I was developing anxiety every time I went to do my nails because I had polishes all over that table. It was getting harder and harder to distinguish my Untried's from the rest of my stash too. I didn't want to buy any expensive desks or storage systems because we are talking about nail polish here and I'm a well-known klutz. I could just see me spilling nail polish all over it. I also wanted racks so I could see my polish (I'm a very visual person). Of course my stash is getting so big there's no way I can keep them ALL in racks but my favorites for sure. I stumbled upon  SmartDeco Furniture a few months ago and saw a perfect set-up for my DIY polishing. This is modern, efficient, and economical cardboard furniture. Yep, CARDBOARD. I selected the SmartSet which consists of a Desk (Intellidesk), a Night Stand (SmartStand), and a

3 coats. No top coat. Blurred to show sparkle. Here's yet another one of the Texture polishes from Julie G's Gumdrops Collection . I keep saying it but I love these! I still have to wear the blue and green so don't get sick of me yet! So far out of the bunch this is the first one I had to do 3 coats to build up. But, because they dry so quickly it wasn't an issue. I used my favorite base coat; Barielle's Hydrating Ridge Filler . The formula on Tangerine Dream was just as nice as the others; the brush is great and makes application super easy. Just don't hurry the brushstroke because these are a little on the thick side. There's no need for top coat with these but if you like a glossy look you can totally add one. I prefer it textured and matte. I love this light orange with heavy golden sparkle; No large glitters in this one. See my little white stars in the photos? I had a nail disaster occur. I was shaving my legs and kind of let my mind wander

Eclos by Freeman Beauty: Apple Stem Cell Skin Care.

Eclos Apple Stem Cell Skin Care by Freeman Beauty I recently got Perked by Klout ! I was especially happy when I found out that the perk was from Freeman Beauty and that they are cruelty free and do not test on animals; Go Freeman Beauty ! If you are unfamiliar with Klout it's basically a way to 'measure' your interaction & influence through the various social media outlets. You sign up and link your Facebook Account, Twitter Account, YouTube, Linked In, Google+, Instagram, Blogger Account, etc. to Klout. Klout will then track interaction & influence. As you move up in score, and depending on the types of topics you focus on, you can get a Perk. A perk is when you get to try something out for free. Typically it's a product or an experience;  but they are branching out so it could be anything really. There is never any obligation to use a Perk or to talk about it. I got really lucky and got to try out a new Skin Care line. I am getting to the age where I

Scalloped / Cloud Mani Featuring Barielle Shades.

Shown with a coat of Gelous and Seche Vite. I got to feeling a little frisky and decided to try the Scalloped or Cloud Mani look. It's my first time doing this so I gave it a test run first on a swatch stick. The test run came out much better than my actual nails but I am still happy with the end result. I even it wore this to get an oil change and one of the service guys commented on them; He asked if I had gone to a Reggae Party. Um, no, I didn't. LOL
