Peanut Butter Caramel Tutorial by LipglossLeslie!

Image
I was inspired to do this look after watching LipglossLeslie's YouTube video . I had to get creative since I don't own the Too Faced Semisweet Chocolate Bar Palette. Here's how I did it and what I used:  Colour Pop Super Shock Eyeshadow in So Quiche all over lid. Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette : #6 in crease as transition # 18 & #20 on outter corner V #9 on lid #1 inner corner highlight  Coastal Scents Revealed Palette : #1 on brow bone My Pretty Zombie in Scurvy in crease and blended up towards brow bone. E.l.f. Smudge Pot in Crusin' Chic on inner lower lashline E.l.f. Smudge Pot in Brownie Points on outter lower lashline. It's not exact but I like it! My favorite part is My Pretty Zombie's Scurvy; it's such a unique color, like a bold burnt orange. It also applies beautifully and doesn't fade when blended out. If you haven't already seen Leslie's video, go check it out!

Happy Valentine's Day: CND Shellac, Scarlet Letter and Zillionaire.

Image
Applied 2 coats of Scarlet Letter from the Charmed Limited Collection . A really squishy looking red that was very easy to apply. It looks like a crelly (creme & jelly) on the nails. It's a great red. After curing my last color coat I added some heart decals from Icing to my ring nail. I bent the gold metal heart on an orange stick to give it a curve so it would better fit my nail. I then carefully applied a very light coat of Zillionaire , which is clear base filled with multicolored iridescent flakes. You can build it up or keep it light but it will never reach opacity alone as it is meant to be a topper. This combined with the UV Top Coat sealed my little decals in very well. They lasted the entire time on my nails without peeling or getting caught in my hair or on my clothing. These turned out very cute; so far my experimenting has been 50/50. Hope you all have a lovely day! I spent most of it in bed since it is my one day off this week. Red Siam Crysta

Finish 5 By Cinco de Mayo: Update #1

Image
Sorry I'm behind! Tax Season has kept me busy so this will have to be short and sweet! See my intro post here ! Finish 5 by Cinco de Mayo was started by Megsmakeup8 ! -  Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick  in Purty Persimmon: This has proven to be a tough color to use because I have to make sure it works with my outfit. It's is a great long lasting lippie though; out of all my other choices this one lasts the best and is maintenance free. I don't even have to worry about this feathering or smearing. -  Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss  in Mai-Tai 02: My least used of the bunch but this is no surprise. I've used this maybe 2 - 4 times. I'm not big on glosses but this one is better than most. Love the color and shimmer. -  Milani Color Statement Lipstick  in Fruit Punch: A super cute pink that I've used quite a lot but not as much as the next one. I like to use this one with a lip liner to help it last longer on my lips. It

CND Shellac, Vexed Violet.

Vexed Violet is a very unique color but I love it; it's a little bit brown, a little bit gray, and a little bit purple. Because it's a shimmer it is on the sheer side; it took 4 coats to get to an opacity I was happy with. But the durability and wear was not affected by the additional coats. In fact this held up even better than usual. I will definitly be wearing this again.   You can see how this looks different depending on the light. Indoors it look grey. It doesn't look this frosty in real life; the brush strokes are not nearly as prominent.

CND Shellac, Cream Puff and Additives in Gilded Gleam.

Image
I thought I would go light this time with Cream Puff , a true white cream. I used 2 coats for opacity. After my 2nd coat of Color Coat I thought I would try using the Additives in Gilded Gleam which is a sparkly metallic gold. I used an angle brush to stipple the pigment around the edges of my nail. I then applied my CND Shellac UV Top Coat to seal it all in. I learned about the Additives through YouTube videos and I followed their techniques for applying it but I had a less than stellar result; I noticed that the Shellac didn't hold up as well when used with the Additive pigment between the layers. It was also very messy; it's a very lightweight pigment and it flys up in the air even when using carefully. Because the pigment interrupts the sticky seal between the color coat and top coat it started chipping and peeling away very quickly. While the look is cute I won't do this again. I do want to find another technique that might work better with the Additives though.
