Nerd Lacquer, Cyance Friction.

Image
2 coats with Gelous & In A Hurry. I'm drooling on my keyboard, guys. I finally got my little monster paws on a Nerd Lacquer and she's a stunner! Cyance Friction is a bright teal base loaded with square teal glitter, gold and bronze hexagon glitter and then the deal breaker: pink glass flecks. Good Lord! I'm dying! It's that good! The formula was actually really nice. It's a little thick but not difficult to apply. The base color is sheer but not too sheer because all I needed was 2 coats for full opacity. I hardly had any clean up too. It does dry gritty so I used a coat of Gelous and then a coat of In A Hurry to get a rock hard and glossy finish. Dry time was relatively quick as well. This is an absolutely awesome polish; it's complex but not too over the top. This is art. I can't wait to add some more Nerd's to my stash!

Vegan Cuts' Beauty Box - August 2013.

Image
Its about time I share my Vegan Cuts Beauty Box with you! This is the one I received in August. I've since gotten the September one but I need time to test out all the products before I tell you about that one. Shall we get started??? Perennial Soaps, Mini Peppermint Tea Tree Facial Bar - Scented artisan soaps handmade in small batches without the use of palm oil. I really like the smell of this; it's very refreshing and clean but not too strong. It lathers up very well and cleanses well. I did notice a 'squeeky' clean feel which I'm not a fan of and thats why I typically use liquid soaps. I've been using this to remove my make-up before using my Relogy Skin Care System and it does a good job of removing all of it. Schmidt's Deodorant - Aluminum-free deodorant cream in an enticing Bergamot & Lime scent. I love the product but hate the packaging. The product itself smells super good; unique, refreshing, clean, but not too strong. I also like th

Cult Nails, Be Loco & All Out.

Image
All Out over Be Loco w/ top coat. I wanted to jump right back into the Cult Nails, Road Trip Anyone? Collection so I started with a base of Be Loco . I really wanted to love this; a super bright (borderline neon) coral can easily win me over but the formula on Be Loco was a disaster for me. I used 3 coats and let each coat dry thoroughly but I ended up with a streaky, lumpy, and bumpy mess. This was a total Nail Fail. The consistency was very goopy yet thin. It was really sheer; I would have done a 4th coat but I was done goofing around with it. Thank God I had All Out to save the manicure. I didn't even bother taking a photo of the mani before adding All Out because it was so bad. I do have a nail swatch stick for you though. I honestly have no desire to keep this polish in my stash. Be Loco. 2 coats; no top coat. All Out , however, is a complete and total WIN! I love this golden yellow glass fleck topper. It was a breeze to apply over my mess of Be Loco. It totally c

Julie G, Blueberry Fizz.

Image
2 coats. No top coat. I love my Julie G Gumdrops ! I'm finally wearing my last one; Blueberry Fizz , a very light almost periwinkle blue texture polish with tons of micro glitter and medium hexagon glitters. I actually had a huge chip come off my Flock Together mani so I needed to put something on quick that would dry super quick. Pan to my very last Julie G, Gumdrop sitting in my acrylic rack. It was perfect. The formulas on these kick butt, if you need something that applies easily, dries quick, flatters your nails, and is extremely durable... You need these. I mean look at that mani; it was a quick one. I didn't have time for precision nor clean up and it looks better than any professional mani I've ever gotten. Long story short: These are a must for every nail polish lover, big or small.

China Glaze, Flock Together.

Image
1 coat with Gelous & 2 coats of In A Hurry Top Coat. Flock Together from China Glaze's On The Horizon Feather Finish Collection was the perfect glitter to layer over Cult Nails' Riot & Party Time. My index, ring, and pinky has a base of Riot and my middle has Party Time as a base. Flock Together consists of Pale Blue, Light Lime Green, and Black Matte Bar Glitter in a clear base. What you see here is only one coat; you get great glitter payoff. The formula is nice and thin and easy to work with. The glitter did apply a little unevenly but you can keep working it to get it how you like it. It dried pretty quickly, but it dries super gritty. I used a coat of Gelous and then 2 coats of In A Hurry in order to get it somewhat smooth. If you like a super smooth, glass like surface you might need 3. I was a very good girl the entire month of August and was on a very strict no-buy. I rewarded myself with 3 of these earlier this September; this one, You're A Hoot,

Cult Nails, Riot & Party Time.

2 coats with a coat of In A HurryTop Coat. I've had the Cult Nails, Road Trip Anyone? Collection sitting in my Acrylic Rack just staring at me. I know summer is winding down and I still have some 'summer' shades I need to wear. So, I decided to give 2 of them some love by doing an accent nail. Luckily these 2 colors work great together. Riot wants to be a minty sea foam green yet its got just a hint more emerald to it making it unique in my stash. It looks better on the nail than in the bottle. The formula is a little thin, but it's very opaque. Those of you who use a thicker application could probably make this a one coater. I like to use thinner coats so I had a few sheer spots with my 1st coat; my 2nd coat finished the job. For some reason the brushes in these seem thinner than usual; it was a little problematic getting it to fan out over my nail. I gave it a few turns to find the best side of the brush to use. It did require just a little extra dry time; I

Finger Paints, Sarong So Right.

Image
3 coats with Gelous & In A Hurry. Michelle over at All Lacquered Up created a new collection with Finger Paints called A Pair Affair . These all have something unique about them and the formulas are varied. There's 2 shimmers, 2 glass flecks, and 2 jellies; something for everyone. I wanted to wear one right away and Sarong So Right is an awesome orange toned coral. It has a soft pink shimmer AND scattered holographic glitter. It's also a squishy jelly! This is definitely a unique bird; I love it! The formula was extremely thick (think Elmer's glue) so I added 6 drops of thinner. I started with 3 and tested it out and needed another 3. It was still thick but better. I don't think the thickness would hamper application but I was worried dry time would be extended. I used 3 coats on my nails; those of you who use thicker coats would probably get away with 2. Application was good; I got a nice line at the cuticle and had very little clean up. Dry time isn'

Julie G, Rock Candy & Birds. (Nail Tattoos from Fake Tattoos)

Sunlight. 2 coats. No Top Coat. I'm back with another textured polish from Julie G's Gumdrops Collection. This one is a sea foam green with hexagon shaped glitter. As usual the formula was excellent and it dried very quickly. I used 2 coats for opacity. These are quite possibly the easiest polishes to apply. I hardly have any cleanup, they dry incredibly quick, they are extremely durable and they make my nails look extra nice. Whats not to love about that?!? The formulas are a little on the thick side but I find it helps with application. When looking at my untrieds I noticed Priti NYC, Scotch Thistle would coordinate beautifully with Rock Candy so I did a pedicure with Scotch Thistle. I posted a nail stick swatch on my Facebook Page HERE . I normally don't care to be matchy-matchy but with the different textures and tones I really like it. www.faketattoos.se I then decided to try out some Temporary Nail Tattoos I bought sometime ago from Fake Tattoos . Barielle's Sophisticated Lady Fall 2013 Collection.

Image
5 pack. Here's the 2nd release Barielle has for Fall this year; Sophisticated Lady . If you like sexy & vampy then this collection is right up your alley. Nail Stick Swatches. Indoors, 2 coats. No Top Coat. The milk chocolate shade, In Good Taste , is also a part of the Nude & Naughty Collection I showed you a few days ago. Click HERE to see it. My favorite out of the bunch is London High Tea , a raspberry pink with golden shimmer. However, red lovers will want Dinner at 8 because the formula is a juicy crelly with excellent opacity at 2 coats. Those who love a dark, vampy nail will love the one-coat formula of Tres Chic , a blackened blurple creme. Nail Stick Swatches. Outdoors, 2 coats. No Top Coat. You can't see the golden shimmer in London High Tea in this nail stick swatch because the weather was a bit overcast, but you can see it in the photo below. Barielle's Tres Chic on Index & Middle. London High Tea on Ring & Pinkie. Tres

Barielle's Nude & Naughty Fall 2013 Collection.

5 Pack. It's been a while since I've been really wowed by anything from Barielle even though I love their products. I felt the Summer Collections were lacking originality and the formulas did not impress. Apparently, they were saving it up for their Fall releases because I really LOVE this collection! Nude & Naughty is a neutral collection but what makes it special are all the little details and the formulas. I love neutrals but I still like to see special details thrown in. One of my favorites is a nice shimmer. Nail Stick Swatches; Indoors. 2 coats each. No Top Coat. When this collection arrived I promptly did some nail stick swatches; I initially thought I would love the milk chocolate color, In Good Taste , but I really loved the light brown shimmer, I Got A Headache . No Not Now is a taupe/mauve with a very subtle silver shimmer and is beautiful as well. I'm normally very bored with french colors but the two in this collection have excellent formulas.
