Happy Halloween: Jane's Tiny Things.

Image
When it comes to Halloween and October it turns to the macabre and spooky in my life. Scary movies, haunted houses, the ouiji board, and don't forget the scary decorations. It figures that I wouldn't put cartoon pumpkins and cats on my nails. No smiling spiders here. LOL That's where Jane's Tiny Things comes in... with her Fright Night Decals .  From Left to Right: FingerPaints , Catwalk Queen with Goblin Decal. * OPI, Don't Talk Bach To Me with Witch Decal. Julep, Adrianna with Zombie Decal. * OPI, Don't Pretzel My Buttons with Vampire Decal.   Frankened White Polish (1/2 Zoya, Purity & 1/2 China Glaze, Dandy Lyin' Around) with Evil Clown Decal. I apply these decals like temporary tattoos and applied a coat of ACI's In A Hurry Air Dry Top Coat . *OPI is no longer Cruelty-Free but I purchased the Germany Collection back when they were Cruelty-Free.

Halloween Inspired Full Face: Vice 3 Palette, Wet n' Wild, My Pretty Zombie.

Image
I did quite a few Halloween Inspired full face looks this month but didn't get photos of them simply becase this month has been so hectic with our sudden move. I've had to literally SQUEEZE time in to do the looks but there wasn't any time to photograph them. Except for this one. So, here it is! The eye is a basic smokey eye but I extended it out a bit to make it longer at the outter eye. It was done using the 5th column of Urban Decay's Vice 3 palette . I applied Defy to the majority of my lid and up into the crease. I deepened the outter corner with Revolver and also brought it up into my crease. I then used Angel to blend the crease up and out. I applied Last Sin to my brow bone. This gives you a very shimmery result which I think is great at Halloween but also great to amp up a look.  I used My Pretty Zombie's Drugs Like Me Blush in Morphine to the hollows of my cheeks. I applied this very sparingly because a little will go a very long way. This is a metal

China Glaze, But Of Corpse... I Love Your Guts.

Image
What do you think of my play on words, there? On my Index & Middle: China Glaze, But Of Corpse . A metallic green apple or lime green. On my Ring & Pinkie: China Glaze, I Love Your Guts . A metallic berry pink. This complimentary pair of polishes are from the Apocalypse Of Color Collection and they are quite unique. I'm not sure if you would call them frosts, metallics, textures, or glitters. The base is a frosty metallic loaded with fine black glitters. They are gritty glitters that give a very unique finish to the polish. It's textured but not as heavily as most textured polishes. A few notes on the formula: These thicken quite quickly as you polish your nails and I found thinner coats worked best. If I applied a coat too thick it would crack much like a Crackle Type polish. Otherwise I found the formula to be fine, not spectacular, but fine. These also dried quickly. I applied a coat of ACI's In A Hurry Air Dry Top Coat and surprisingly it still kept it's t

China Glaze, Getting To Gnaw You and Stop That Train!

Image
Today I have a polish from China Glaze's Apocalypse Of Color with an accent nail from the All Aboard Collection. These two just seemed to scream out at me as a cool combo. No Top Coat. Getting To Gnaw You is from the Apocalypse Of Color Collection and it reminds me a lot of Wet n Wild's Cougar Attack from years ago except GTGY has a much more opaque and black base. If you missed out on Cougar Attack and are still kicking yourself I would highly recommend this one. I like it better. It only took two coats and dried very quickly like a texture polish. In fact you could rock this as a texture or your could top coat it. Formula was very easy to work with. On my accent nail I have Stop That Train! from the All Aboard Collection . This frosty orange is pretty enough but as you can see this shows brush strokes. I love orange polish but this left me a bit bored. I used 2 easy coats; formula was quite easy to work with.  With Illamasqua Matte Top Coat. I read about a trick (I belie

Hey Gang! Can I just tell you how stressful this move has been?? Moving is stressful; no news there... But when you go online to U-Haul to reserve a 26' truck on tuesday and this happens: (If you dont want to bother with this part just scroll down) - U-Haul Rep calls to go over details on Wednesday; it's a mess. - U-Haul Rep says they will call you on Thursday to let you know where you can get 26' Truck. - No call from U-Haul Rep on Thursday. - Call U-Haul Rep on Friday and ask whats going on. They say we will have the truck tomorrow morning ready to go. - Go to pick up U-Haul Truck; Not Available.  GRRRRRRR... - Go home; call another U-Haul. - Finally talk to someone who knows what they are doing and set-up reservation for Monday. This guy covered everything the 1st did not.  - Got it on Monday (Yay!) - Load up truck; drive to new place.  - Begin unloading; notice huge wet spot under truck. - Transmission fluid all over driveway (this is a rental sooo...) - Call U-Haul to

Demeter Fragrance: Elvira's Zombie.

Image
When I spotted this fragrance on Elvira's webstore (one of three different scents) I bought it straight on impulse. It's two of my favorite things rolled into one; Elvira & Zombies.  It's been ages (literally) since I've purchased anything from Demeter Fragrance; let's be honest these are popular for the pre-teen crowd. At least that's when I used to purchase them. Today I wouldn't think to visit the Demeter site for a fragrance but because I stumbled upon it through Elvira's site its now in my hands. The magic of the internet, right? So, first we must specify this as a 'cologne'. What does that mean? A cologne is typically a scent that contains the lowest percentage (about 5% to 8%) of essential oils while a perfume contains the highest (aproximately 30%) and is more concentrated. Perfume lasts much longer on skin, about 6 to 8 hours, while cologne will require additional applications. Typically colognes are also much more budget friendly b

China Glaze, What Are You A-Freight Of?

Image
Today I'm rocking another shade from China Glaze's All Aboard Collection . I applied 2 coats of What Are You A-Freight Of? to all my nails. This is a really unique color to my stash. It reminds me of Zoya, Kelly but this one leans more of a red-toned purple. It's dark but it has a muted dusty quality that makes it really nice. Formula was a little on the thin side but still incredibly opaque. Use caution to avoid cuticle pooling, be sure to wipe excess polish from your brush. If you like to apply thicker coats this could be a one coater but I used medium coats so I added a 2nd coat to even things out. It self levels nicely but does take a little longer to dry for some odd reason. On my index and middle nails I dabbed one coat of Lumina Lacquer's Peculiar Pumpkin Posse . This glitter bomb features orange and black hexagons, orange holographic hexagons, large silver circles, silver holographic crescent moons and even a few silver hearts. All that in a clear base. The s

China Glaze, Don't Get Derailed and Mind The Gap.

Image
Here's two more polishes I have to show you from the All Aboard Collection . Don't Get Derailed - A dark murkey olive green creme. AMAZING formula; thin and easy to apply. Very opaque. This is 2 coats on all my nails. Mind The Gap - This is a shimmery olive green with flashes of gold. Formula was nice and easy to apply. It is a little on the sheer side so I layered one coat over Don't Get Derailed on my ring nail. This reminds me of one of the new NYX Wicked Lippies ; Trickery. So far I am very impressed with this collection, how about you?

Dollish Polish, Walker Bait and If I Were A Zombie...

Image
Right after I finished yesterdays post my Dollish Polish order arrived; I ordered her LE The Walking Dead release called Walker Bait and 4 Halloween Themed Glitter Minis. I had to put Walker Bait on right away. Walker Bait is this awesome deep olive green super holograpic polish. It's like Toxic Avengers' creepy cousin. The formula is much more opaque than your typical holo and only required 2 coats. But it is like other holos in that you don't want to overwork it when applying. In the past I have been able to remove the large sqaure caps for easier polishing but this cap did not want to budge; not sure if maybe the bottles have changed or if I just couldn't remove this one. This polish was named after the character Glenn in The Walking Dead because in one of the earlier seasons he was referred to as Walker Bait. It is a fantastic color and since I sadly missed out on Toxic Avenger I'm glad I got this one. It was originally released a few years back but it was re-

China Glaze, All Aboard and piCture pOlish, Lizzie.

Image
Are you guys as excited as I am?!? Do you know what I'm talking about? Well, let me fill you in! Tonight is the Season Premiere of The Walking Dead ! Been waiting months and months for this day... Can you guess why I am wearing an accent nail of Lizzie? If you watch the show you know that one of the most explosive episodes last season was 'The Grove' . If you are behind on the show and don't want any spoilers you should cut out now. Lizzie was a young girl who basically had a mental breakdown and began seeing zombies as people. In this episode she kills her sister so she will turn into a zombie. It was quite a mind fuck. Since Lizzie was a clear danger to those around her (and shrinks don't exist in the zombie apocalypse) she was directed to ''Look at the flowers" and was dispatched. If you know what I mean.  On 3 nails:  All Aboard  is a muted deep purple creme. It's very pretty. The formula was a little on the squishy side but still opaque in 2 ea

Barielle, Me Couture Collection: Swatches and Review.

Image
Hey Gang! Barielle sent me one of their newest collections for Fall to show you. Since I'm not one to do a swatch-a-thon (seriously tough on my nails) I did some nail art. I was inspired by Let Them Have Polish when she did this with a Zoya Collection recently. Index and Middle: 2 coats of Boho Chic as my base color; dotting done with Vintage Gown. Ring and Pinky: 2 coats of Moda Bleu as my base color; dotting done with Taupe Notch. For the dotting I used different sized dotting tools; you can pick up a set here . After it was completly dry I added one coat of In A Hurry Air Dry Top Coat. The Me Couture Collection consists of 6 colors; 5 cremes and 1 creme with slight shimmer. These all have a very consistent formula and are easy 2 coaters.  From Left to Right: Boho Chic : The bottle shot looks teal but on the nail its a forest green creme. Moda Bleu : A dark navy blue creme. Brighter than Milani's Enchanted Sapphire, deeper than China Glaze's One Track Mind. Taupe Notch

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Emerald and Enchanted Topaz.

Here's the last lipstick and nail lacquer I have to show you from Milani's Bedazzled Collection . Sorry for the delay in getting this posted; we found we had to move stat so we had to drop everything and focus on finding a new place. Right now we are in the eye of the storm so it's calmed down some but it's gonna get crazy here again in a few days. As I've said in my earlier posts it was believed that this collection would be exclusive to Walgreens but I did see some of these listed on Milani's website so if you are on the hunt for these check their website first. I did see that quite a few of these were already sold out.  Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Emerald . This is a very dark forest green but not as dark as Enchanted Sapphire . This one is much more obvious that it is green but in low lighting you will mistake this for a black. Formula was just like Enchanted Sapphire; very opaque, a little on the thick side and thickens during applica

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Sapphire and Enchanted Amethyst.

Here's the next nail lacquer and lipstick I have to show you from Milani's Bedazzled Collection . Check out my first post HERE . I was under the impression these were Walgreen's exclusives but I did see some on Milani's website . Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Sapphire is a very dark blue creme. In the bottle it looks like a navy blue but on the nail this is a blue toned black. I'm not one to be crazy about basic black cremes but if you are a black polish feind you might want to grab this one. It's very very opaque. I used 2 coats but only because I am a perfectionist. If you are looking for a good navy blue stamping polish this would work well; used lightly it definitly looks navy blue. Formula was a little odd; it started out nice and easy to apply but it thickened up quickly so I added some thinner. With this polish I noticed the brush was a little coarse and left track marks in the finish as I was polishing. It also doesn't fan out on

Tips and Lips: Milani Enchanted Garnet and Enchanted Ruby.

Hey ya'll! Sorry for the absence but the hubby and I decided to spend the last days of September in Laughlin, NV! It was a fabulous trip! Uh Oh, Guess what day it is... It's the first day of October! Whooo Hooo! I've got a lipstick and a nail lacquer from Milani's Bedazzled Collection to show you today. These are Walgreens exclusives and can be hard to find. It took me quite sometime to hunt them down; I struck gold while on vacation. The Walgreens in Bullhead City, AZ had the collection out. I snagged all the Lippies and nail lacquers. I wasn't too keen on the eyeliners so I passed on those. HEADS UP: I just found some colors from the Bedazzled Collection online at www.milanicosmetics.com. Click on What's New to see the collection. Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Enchanted Garnet is exactly that; a garnet. Garnet is a blackened shimmering red with a touch of brown. It also happens to be my birthstone! This is my first time trying out the new Color Sta
