Old Navy Haul!

Image
Images from OldNavy.com In early January, before tax season took off, I had a mini-shopping spree online at Old Navy. I received a gift card for Christmas so I figured I would get some pieces I could use for both work and after. Women's Patterned Sleeveless Dresses, Crazy Multi Floral   -  I like the all over pattern of this dress (it should camoflauge lumps and bumps) and I have some brown Baretraps Boots that I think would be cute with some tights or leggings. Women's The Rockstar Mid-Rise Cords, Winter Wine -  This isn't quite marsala (the color of the year) but I still think it is very on trend (plus I love the color). I plan on pairing this with a yellow check button-down blouse, tan cardigan, and bronze flats. I could also pair it with some black and white blouses I own. Sadly, these were already out of stock the day after I ordered them.   Women's Poplin-Crepe Button-Front Maxi Dress, Black  -  I' ve been looking to add a maxi dress to my wardrobe but most a

Check out my original intro post for more info on each product. -  Freeman Feeling Beautiful Body Salt Scrub  with Guava and Vitamin C: I haven't used this as much as I had hoped I would but now that I've come to that realization I can change that. I got my scale on the 6th, weigh ins as follows:  8.6 fl.oz. on 1/6/15,  8.2 fl.oz. on 1/20/15 . Not a lot of progress but at least it's something. -  Freeman Bare Foot Lemon + Sage Foot Balm : I've gotten to the point where I can now appreciate the unique texture and it is definitely keeping the winter dryness away. Weigh ins as follows:  5.6 fl.oz. on 1/6/15,  3.8 fl.oz. on 1/20/15 . Definite progress! In case you are wondering about my scale I chose an inexpensive one from Amazon but I love how sleek and modern it looks and so far it is working out great. -  LUSH Carrot Soap : Done! It only lasted a week and a half. It's definitely a fun product and great for a luxury item; would I purchase LUSH soap for everyday use

CND Shellac, Asphalt.

Here's my first Shellac manicure of the season (and year)! I thought this gray would make for a good neutral that would go with everything yet it's got a bit more edge  than say a nude or tan. 2 thin coats worked perfect. My first coat looked like it would be too thin but it wasnt and it kept me from getting pooling at the cuticle and sides of my nails. I always have an issue getting good coverage on the free edge and I'm not sure why. Although in reality it isn't as noticeable as it is in the photos. I need to crack open a new top coat; I think this is why I am getting some bubbling. In other news tax season is off and running; these last couple of days we have been completing some returns and having lots of consultations with clients who had some changes last year. Friendly Reminder: If you got health coverage through your State Exchange or Marketplace; besure to wait to get your Form 1095-A. They may even have them available through your online account. Those of you

Nerd Lacquer, I Think You Call Me...Sexy.

Image
Here's a quickie for ya! I'm so happy Nerd Lacquer is back and has been having restocks! Got this lovely in the last one which occured in December... I Think You Call Me Sexy is a gorgeous glittery and shimmery complex blue polish. 2 very easy coats; my tips look a little sheer in the photo but in reality it wasn't noticeable. When using a Nerd I give them a real good shake and sit them upside down for at least 15 minutes before using (and some shaking in between to keep it well mixed). In all honesty this was a very easy glitter packed polish to apply; normally these can be difficlut but the combo of a perfected suspension base and the perfect brush really gave me great application. Dried a little bumpy but 2 coats of In A Hurry smoothed it right out.  Yes, this is a Dr. Who themed polish but No, I am not a fan... but it does not prevent me from loving it. If you are a fan then you just might have to have this right this very moment. If you love Nerd Lacquer and would li

Happy New Years: Zoya, Anja and Dollish Polish.

Happy New Year! To ring in my New Year (which hopefully will be 110% better than 2014 - Good Riddance!) I went with an interesting combo that tuned out looking a lot like Fruit Cake! LOL I applied 2 coats of Zoya, Anja which I got in my Zoya Mystery Bag (it's a mini). Zoya's website describes it as   'a rich, deep, vampy red-toned wine purple with a glossy creme finish. This vampy shade is both sexy and elegant.'  but I see it as more of a dark burgundy. Either way it is a very vampy color and if you love black polish I think you will like this as well. In low lighting it looks black. Formula was a little on the thin side so I had to be cautious to avoid using too much product but otherwise it applied nicely. It definitly requires 2 thin coats for full opacity. Dry time was good as well. I then topped Anja with one coat of Dollish Polish , 1, 2, Freddy's Coming For You . This was one I meant to  wear in October but circumstances occured where I wasn't able to p
