Zoya, Crystal. (Bonus: Wet n Wild Juicy Lip Balm in Cherry)

Zoya, Crystal. 3 coats.

Sunlight.

January makes me think of heavy snow fall, ice covered car windows and frozen water hoses. It's just plain cold. Here, in Norco, we don't see any of that snow but when I lived in the High Desert (Hesperia, CA) we got one huge snow storm in January that dumped 11 inches (more in other areas) on us. In some ways it was awesome; couldn't go to work for 3 days :-). In other ways it was a real bother; No fast food runs, and when the fun of the snow wore off it was a real pain getting my dogs to go outside and potty. Luckily, we only got hit once in 4 years like that.

Crystal makes me think of shimmery ice crystals; a metallic light blue with golden flecks. She went on a little sheer so 3 coats was necessary to build it up to opacity. In addition, it did take quite a while for each coat to dry. I did experience some dragging which could be my base coat of Barielle's Hydrating Ridgefiller; sometimes it doesn't play well with certain Zoya's. The consistency of the formula was nice and easy to apply; you won't have any problems applying thin coats. She finally dried to a smooth surface, but with a satin finish. I added a coat of Seche Vite for a glossy shine.

While I love the color in general, I don't think it's doing anything flattering for me. I probably won't be reaching for this too often, but I love the unique color of this polish. Luckily this polish isn't frosty or plagued with brush strokes.

I also have some 'Bonus Material' for you...

Bare Lips.

Wet n Wild Juicy Lip Balm in Cherry.

I recently found that Wet n Wild has some lip balms so I had to take one for a spin. Wet n Wild Juicy Lip Balm SPF 15, Cherry.

You get a nice big stick of colorful balm for a very affordable price. I've been seeing lots of companies putting out these larger, more chunky, balms. I think they are trying to draw in the Chapstick, Burt's Bees, Eos, and Blistex crowd with updated packaging. I actually like the bigger stick because my lips are thicker but I'm thinking gals with thinner lips might not appreciate the size.

You get a nice sheer wash of color with these too and can build up the intensity of the color with a few extra swipes. The consistency is very light and smooth (not sticky), but this causes it to fade quicker than the typical waxy balms. It does leave some color behind on your lips; not quite sure I would call it a stain because you can easily wipe it off. I've been using mine for a week and I find it very moisturizing and it gives my lips a very juicy looking shine.

The smell and taste is lacking a little; every once in a while I will taste something funny but I don't lick my balm off my lips so I don't notice it too often. The scent is Cherry but it's very light so it's not noticeable when wearing it. The packaging it cute but I am a little annoyed that I can't roll it all the way down into the base; I end up scrapping the balm with the cap every now and again so it can look messy if I don't wipe it down every couple of days. Otherwise, it's a cute design and the graphics are cute; in fact it reminds me of Hard Candy's packaging. I also really appreciate that this has SPF 15 in it.

In other news tax season is well under way. This past week I did a lot of marketing; mostly good neighboring, which is where I go around to local businesses and let them know that H&R Block is now open and we are available for any questions they may have as well as letting people know we are doing FREE 1040EZ's through February 15th. We are also partnering up with Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide some key information about the Health Care Reform Act and helping to provide information on how it will affect your 2014 Tax Return. So, if you are out of the loop in this particular subject feel free to stop by a Block office for a free consultation. Our office has also been experiencing some technical issues with our Network Server not connecting so we've been trying to troubleshoot our issues but so far we are still a bit hampered. Hopefully, it gets worked out soon. Nothing worse than not being able to do your job because of your computer. :-(

So, what do you think of either Crystal or the Juicy Lip Balm? Either of these look interesting?
