Barielle's Sweet Treats Collection for Spring 2013.

Image
Barielle, Green Apple Chew. 2 coats. (Index and Middle) Barielle, Lilac Jelly Bean. 2 coats. (Ring and Pinky) Green Apple Chew & Lilac Jelly Bean. With Gelous and Barielle's Ulta Speed Dry Manicure Extender top coat. I got a special delivery from Barielle again... the Sweet Treats Collection! These colors are a treat for the eyeballs... a mix of brights, pastels, and a shimmer. Of course I tended to lean towards the shimmery Blue Cotton Candy first but then I quickly found my favorite to be the bright Green Apple Chew which is reminiscent of the H&R Block green. After doing wheel swatches I also liked the muted pastel of Lilac Jelly Bean. I thought they would work well together. Here are nail wheel swatches; each color is shown in 3 different finishes: - No Top Coat on the Left - With Barielle's MATTE-INEE Matte Finish in the Middle - With Barielle's Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender on the Right Green Apple Chew Banana Drop...

MANGLAZE, Fu@k Off & Dye with Hot Mess.

Image
MANGLAZE, Fuck Off & Dye. 2 coats. MANGLAZE, Hot Mess. 1 coat. Fuck Off & Dye. Sunlight. Fuck Off & Dye. Shade. It's about time I got around to using my MANGLAZE. I'm not one to buy a pink polish unless of course it has a really awesome name or back story. This one has both. If you are interested in learning more check this out. and this . Hot Mess. Sunlight. The formula on MANGLAZE polishes are really awesome. They are practically one coaters but I'm insistent on two. The brushes are a little stiff (yea, I said it) but work perfectly for the thick matte formula. No issues with dragging or bare spots. Of course they dry incredibly fast. FO&D is an in-your-face magenta pink that would work well on just about anyone. Hot Mess is a super dense silver glitter. Great glitter coverage in just one coat. Fuck Off & Dye and Hot Mess with Gelous and Seche Vite. I wish I could have kept the matte finish but for work purposes ...

Dollish Polish and Heart Stamping. (Happy Valentine's Day!)

Image
Dollish Polish, Looking For My Mr. Big. 2 coats. Stamping with Bundle Monster Plate BM-317 and Wet n Wild, Wild Shine in Black Creme. Outdoors, Sunlight. Stamping with Bundle Monster plate BM-317 I'm a huge fan of Sex In The City; I have all of the seasons on DVD and the movies too. When I saw The PolishAholic post this I knew I had to have it. It's also perfect for Valentine's Day. It's a warm lavender with a delicate holo shine. While I always thought Big was an asshole (and still do) I can also attest that many times your love can get stronger when tested. If you can make it through the rough patches; you will find an even stronger bond waiting on the other side. As for me, I've already found my Mr. Big... er... well, no, my husband is nothing like Big. He's better because he would never mess with my heart like that. As for the polish it's nothing like Big either. It's easy to work with, much like a jelly. Initially I t...

Misa, BreakAway.

Image
Misa, BreakAway. 2 coats. Outdoors - Overcast weather. Indoors - Incandescent Lighting. Indoor - Flash. Check out that shimmer. Outdoors - Sunlight. I've been working 10 - 14 hour days in the tax office lately so bear with me as I am pretty darn exhausted. However, every Saturday I absolutely have to paint my nails. Last Saturday I went with this lovely warm toned purple from Misa's Wanderlust Collection. Off topic: The hubby and I watched the movie Wanderlust last weekend and it was pretty good but at the end when they are doing out takes is when we laughed the most. Paul Rudd has some moments where he just kills it. BreakAway is a very opaque plum cream with some hidden shimmer. It ended up drying on my nail a little darker than in the bottle but it's still a great color. Formula was excellent and applied very smoothly. Their flat tipped brush makes application a breeze in 3 easy strokes. I love their square bottles too. Dry time was av...

butter London, Lady Muck.

butter London, Lady Muck. 2 coats. Sunlight. Indoors. Hey There! I really wish I could find more time to paint my nails but I've already been working tons or overtime and it's only going to increase. The one day off I had on Saturday was the only day I was able to paint my nails. It had been a gloomy couple of days and I decided to match my nails to the weather. Lady Muck is pretty darn amazing. Excellent formula; it went on beautifully and while it was slightly sheer, it was still opaque enough for me at two coats. The brush fanned out on my nail nicely. Dry time was pretty good and I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite. You can see where I have a bit of a bald spot on my middle nail from where a little floating hair landed and I pulled it off while the polish was still wet. I forgot to fill in the area with polish. Oh well. I love the silver shimmer in this. What's even better is butter London has the Leaping Bunny symbol on their bottles (Go...

My 33rd Birthday in Las Vegas!

Image
Icing, Twisted Fantasy. 2 coats over: Sinful Colors, Rise & Shine. 1 coat. Sunlight. Do you ever feel the need to just be spontaneous and drop everything to go have some fun?!? Well, that's what my husband and I did for my birthday. Even though I don't have much time to take off during tax season I happened to notice that my boss didn't have me scheduled last Friday and Saturday so the hubby and I drove up to Vegas thursday night after I got off work. We spent all day Friday walking around Vegas and then ended the night with some roulette and some tequilla shots. It was pretty awesome. We spent Saturday morning recouperating and then drove home so I could go to work Sunday morning. Ah, the life of a Tax Pro. :-) I wanted to do something celebratory with my nails so I settled on Icing's Twisted Fantasy; a rainbow of confetti glitter in a sheer teal blue base. It's very sheer even at 3 coats so I used undies of Sinful Colors' Rise & Shine. Ris...

Zoya, Crystal. (Bonus: Wet n Wild Juicy Lip Balm in Cherry)

Image
Zoya, Crystal. 3 coats. Sunlight. January makes me think of heavy snow fall, ice covered car windows and frozen water hoses. It's just plain cold. Here, in Norco, we don't see any of that snow but when I lived in the High Desert (Hesperia, CA) we got one huge snow storm in January that dumped 11 inches (more in other areas) on us. In some ways it was awesome; couldn't go to work for 3 days :-). In other ways it was a real bother; No fast food runs, and when the fun of the snow wore off it was a real pain getting my dogs to go outside and potty. Luckily, we only got hit once in 4 years like that. Crystal makes me think of shimmery ice crystals; a metallic light blue with golden flecks. She went on a little sheer so 3 coats was necessary to build it up to opacity. In addition, it did take quite a while for each coat to dry. I did experience some dragging which could be my base coat of Barielle's Hydrating Ridgefiller; sometimes it doesn't play...
