Daring Digits, Girl's Night Out.

Image
Daring Digits, Girl's Night Out. 2 coats. Please ignore my paper cut... School can be dangerous. My chica, Erika, and I went to see an all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band by the name of Zepperella so in preparation I thought this polish would be perfect... Except her husband decided he wanted to come along at the last moment. LOL. It wasn't a problem because he's a really nice guy but it ruined my idea for a post. ;-) Regardless, Girl's Night Out doesn't necessarily need to be worn exclusively for a girl's night out because it is a stunning polish. I've had this for way too long and it's been sitting there staring at me. I'm glad I finally wore it because now I know I will be wearing it often. Girl's Night Out is a a dark charcoal grey jelly base loaded with multicolored shimmer and some holographic glitter too. Consistency is very jelly like which makes it easy to apply. No need to worry about cuticle pooling, although I did hav...

SpaRitual IN PINK Trio: Survivor, Courage, and Wellness (Giveaway Winner Announced!)

Image
This post is a 1 - 2 - 3 punch! First, I want to show you swatches of SpaRitual's IN PINK Trio. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to do a swatch-a-thon so I'm using nail wheels to show you the polish. This has been a crazy week for me with tons of tax classes, applying for jobs, cat sitting, and pet therapy. Not to mention prepping for my Online Trash Cancer Party (which is tonight!). From Left to Right: Survivor, Courage, Wellness, and a Candy Mani I did using Survivor and Wellness. I'm not really crazy about pink polishes but I do appreciate a good formula. Not only do these apply really nicely but they are infused with bamboo to promote strong and healthy nails. I also appreciate that they switched up the texture and effect with a chunky glitter, a shimmer, and a sheer.  Survivor is the chunky glitter (Shown with 1 coat). It also contains some holo glitter too. We've seen a ton of pink glitters and I happen to have quite a few (ODD) so I did a quick com...

Lilacquer, Roo-Bee Rhod!.

Image
Lilacquer, Roo-Bee Rhod!. 1 coat over: Tip Tip NailChic, Peach Crisp (907) The Indie polish makers love to do lines based off of their favorite movies, books, TV shows, etc. I think it’s a great way for them to express themselves and make unique combinations. Lilacquer’s Fifth Element Collection really caught my eye; they are unique in that they are shimmery duochromes and don’t contain any glitter. To be honest I’m kinda over glitters at the moment. I think we were so submersed in them that I made myself sick, like when you eat too much cake. LOL More after the jump...

Tip Top NailChic, Peach Crisp (907).

Image
Tip Top NailChic, Peach Crisp (907). 2 coats. It was an overcast day but a little bit of sun peeked through for this photo... This one is a little darker... Do we all love coral polishes or what? Probably one of the most flattering shades of all time. I love wearing coral, but sometimes I think it’s a little too boring… that is until I put it on and see how flattering it is. Peach Crisp is a reddish orange coral that is a bright pop of color. I like that it’s no where near peach or pink; it’s definitely the edgy side of coral. Much like my favorite polish of all time, Essie, Escapades. Peach Crisp is the lighter, brighter sister to Escapades. Very wearable. This formula is really nice; a little on the watery side but very easy to apply. It has a jelly-like consistency. After 2 coats I can still see a little visible nail line, but it’s not bothersome. The brush is flat and spreads out nicely on the nail. I enjoy working with these polishes. I finished this off wit...

Stamping with China Glaze, Riveting.

Image
Stamping with China Glaze, Riveting. Bundle Monster Plate 320 Base Color: China Glaze, Kiwi Cool-ada My stamping is improving! Whooo Hooo! I’m so happy with how this came out… Riveting gave me a cool copper shimmer effect over the green that is Kiwi. I love this design of little rectangles overlapping one another and I anticipate using it often. It actually reminds me of an image I have on my resume. Clean up was a little tedious considering the shimmer in Riveting but the stamp came out halfway nice and clear. Closeup it's not perfect but not noticeable in real life. I really want to buy some of the Konad stamping polish so I can do some white and black stamping.

China Glaze, Kiwi Cool-ada.

Image
China Glaze, Kiwi Cool-ada. 3 coats. I decided to do something different with my nail shape temporarily due to a corner break on my middle nail. I had to take them down a little shorter but I rounded them instead of doing my typical squared tips. Once they grow out I will go back but I still think they look cute. It was definitely odd stepping out of my typical filing routine; it has become second nature for me to file them straight across. Summer is quickly winding down so I wanted to do another bright and of course I like bright colors best on short nails so I went with this bright neon-like grass green. We were given some of the best neons this summer so this one doesn’t really stand up to those; but I have nothing like this in my stash. It’s definitely a vibrant shade of green. I’m With The Lifeguard, a neon green from this summers Neons Collection from China Glaze is more neon, but less vibrant than Kiwi; they are nothing alike aside from being green. Kiwi requi...

Stamping with Lilacquer, Zorg Industries.

Image
Stamping with Lilacquer, Zorg Industries. Bundle Monster Plate 315 Base Color: Nina Ultra Pro, Sailor I always experiement with stamping on old manis so please excuse the condition of this one...  I received my two lovely Lilacquer polishes in the mail (Zorg Industries and Roo-Bee Rhod!) while I was wearing Nina Ultra Pro, Sailor. I immediately thought Zorg Industries would look great stamped on top of it. As I shuffled through my Bundle Monster plates I zeroed in on this paisley design stamp. This attempt went much smoother and I was able to keep a pretty uniform stamp on most of my nails. I did notice that Zorg Industries dried really quickly on the stamping plate so a few times I stamped without any transfer; but I think this could be due to the hot weather. You can find Lilacquer on Etsy HERE . I really like the effect Zorg Industries created; it’s very subtle but still noticeable. The few mistakes (lack of transfer on areas of the nail) a...

Nina Ultra Pro, Sailor.

Image
Nina Ultra Pro, Sailor. 2 coats. My friend Abbey was rocking some black nail polish a few weekends back when we were at the beach. I thought it looked really chic on her so I thought I would go for a navy blue this week. Sailor is a nice creamy dark blue. It’s got a slightly dusty look to it so it’s not a harsh navy. The formula was nice; the first coat went on pretty opaque with just a few bare spots so a second was needed to even it all out. The consistency was slightly jelly-like so it went on nicely. The brush isn’t the greatest; a little on the narrow side so I had to do a few extra strokes to get good coverage. It dried pretty quickly but just keep in mind it dries slightly darker than the bottle color. I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite but you can see I still have some bubbling due to the hot weather. In the light it’s obvious it is a blue; but in low light it does appear to be black. The only other navy cream I have is Rescue Beauty Lounge, Dead Calm....

Nailventurous Lacquers, Orange You Unique.

Image
Nailventurous Lacquers, Orange You Unique. 2 coats. My apologies for the blurry photos... my camera refused to focus on all those matte glitters. It was finally time for me to rock my absolute favorite of Amy’s nail creations; Orange You Unique. Is it ever so unique?!? I actually wore this to my best friends’ son’s birthday party just so she could see it in person (she’s a nail person too). The formula on OYU is really awesome too; very densely packed with matte glitter in white and blue with an orange tinted base. No undies required; it did require two coats of Seche Vite Top Coat to smooth it out. Of course the consistency is very thick, but I had no application issues. You can get Orange You Unique and a few of Amy's other polishes at Ninja Polish . I highly suggest checking out her blog, I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous , too! This will go down as a favorite of all time for me… It’s so different and this is THE indie that blew my mind when I fi...

It's official: I'm blogging!

I've decided to move my nail reviews and photos to an official blog. At first I was hesitant because I wasn't too familiar with this site but after spending a little time & effort I think I've got it! I will of course still keep my Facebook Page but won't be uploading photos directly to Facebook. Let's be honest: Facebook has been glitchy and troublesome so I'm looking forward to using blogger instead of Facebook. My first real nail post will be in less than 20 minutes and one thing I already love is that I can have multiple photos in one review. Yay!
